I am pretty behind in blogging the events of this past month. I will try and condense it into one post...
We had a wonderful Christmas, make that Christmases. We celebrated Santa at our house before we left town because he needed to lighten his load before the big night.
Her Daddy... Santa... brought her a tricycle, a push cart and a wagon full of mega blocks. This year was a 'Jackson' Christmas, so we spent some time up in Oklahoma City with my family. It was a great time to hang out and celebrate with one another. Ellasyn enjoyed her two Jackson cousins as well as all the other cousins, aunts, uncles, Papa and Marmee and great-Grama!

When we got back to Arlington, we celebrated two nights in a row with the McDaniel family. Yummy dinner and lots of fun watching all the girls unwrap their gifts. The hit of night #2 was tutus made by Aunt Janis!

Ellasyn turned 17 months on Christmas day. Since we were away from our own rocker, the picture was made when we got back home. This past month has been a whirlwind... She is just as busy as ever. I don't think that there will be a post from now on that does not say something similar. She is just always on the move! She loves to accessorize with hats, belts, baskets... whatever she can find that looks interesting. She dances, rocks her stuffed animals, and a re-newed favorite this month is playing pat-a-cake. She continues her love of reading and will sit for a long time in her Boppy, surrounded by pillows, and look at books. Most recently she has figured out that she is able to open her dresser drawers. Her favorite drawer to get into is the on that holds all of her socks, tights, bows and headbands... she pulls them out and builds a little nest in her reading corner. Such a silly girl! Just this morning, I went into her room to find her in her crib with her pajamas half zipped... I wonder how long it took her to un-snap the tab that "child proofs" the zipper?

~ The first day she learned the snap and zipper on her jammies. By the third day, they were all the way off. I am just glad that she prefers to keep her diaper on! ~ |
